Political Tidbits

(Editor’s note: For our new readers Political Tidbits is done periodically.  Occasionally there maybe one with a link for more detail.  BTW, any tips appreciated.  Send to [email protected].)

These are scary times…and it’s the 13th on a Friday…readers still deserve a few “Tidbits”…even if its not Halloween.

Speaking…of scary…if you’re a MAGA diehard…are you still cheering…your leader who promised no more WARS…now he is engaged in one…which could lead to…involving more counties…& become World War III.

Congress facing November 2026 elections…Republicans are now questioning why they have let Trump silence them…may be time to turn on the AI press release writing machine…to tell all they have accomplished…that should not take long.

Winter is still in full swing…in parts of the country…does ICE still stand for misery…or was that only in Minnesota?

Many Floridians are looking forward to the 2026 election…they will soon be rid of Ron DeSantis as Governor…looks like his wife will not run the race…likely she is house hunting…that raises a question…why did Trump not put him in the cabinet as Noem’s replacement?

Election officials across the country…are faced with pressure from Trump’s Department of Justice…he wants voters’ personal information…WV Secretary of State Warnerstood up to Trump…saying…he was entrusted with West Virginians’ personal information…go away…”turnover is just not going to happen”.

Rumors have it…Kristi Noem is looking for a retirement home…in Minnesota…really!

Republicans in the House of Representatives after taking control in 2025 have accomplished little making it’s hard to make a case for re-election.  Members who realize what they do in their district really matters are in better shape to be re-elected.

Florida’s Democratic gubernatorial candidates are doing better than expected…a University of North Florida poll…uncovered that 42% of the Floridians want David Jolly and 36% Jerry Demings…GOP frontrunner Byron Donalds is 6% ahead of Jolly and 7% over Demings.

It’s been noted in North Carolina…in a departure from past state officials with election oversight did not openly support candidates…that is not the case this year.

Be careful listening to what Trump promises…he stated he could settle the Ukraine/Russian war on day one once in office…it’s been 417 days.  Meanwhile…he started another War…while hosting parties $$$…at Mar-A-Lago.

West Virginia Democrats…see the opportunity to turnover the U. S. Senate to Democrats…they are playing a role working to return former Senator Sherrod Brown to the Senate…they are holding a fundraiser for Brown March 25th.

Potential 2028 presidential candidates…in case you missed what Gallup recently found.  Gallup learned in 2025 a gloom has fallen over the country.  From now only 59% have given a high rating on how good their life will be in five years.  Lowest annual measure in almost 20 years that Gallup has asked that question.

Let’s close out this session of Political Tidbits…reminding both Democrats and Republicans…it’s not what you say…it’s what you do.
