Never know where you will get an idea for a blog post. Well, here is one.
A friend calls me weekly to stay in touch. We seldom talk about politics and likely never voted for the same presidential candidate. But last night he mentioned “you may have been right about the election.” His concerned is the billionaires surrounding President Trump, as well as those being appointed to the Cabinet. He went on the say “guess there is nothing we can do now.” I explained there is much that can be done…even now.
Communicate to President Trump how you feel about his actions and policies. Send an email to the President ([email protected]), or a letter to him at The White House (1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Washington, DC 20500). The White House phone is 202.456.1111. Trust me the President & staff pay attention.
An important place to let your opinion be known is your personal Member of U. S. House of Representatives. A letter addressed (Name, U. S. House of Representatives Washington, D. C. 20515 or call the Capitol Switchboard 202.224.3121 who will connect you.) Check your Representative’s website it likely has a form to express your opinion. Remember they run for re-election in 2026!
Though U. S. Senators seek re-election in six-year cycles…several are also running in 2026. Personal letters may be address to (Name, Untied States Senate, Washington, D. C. 20510 or call the Capitol Switchboard 202.224.3121.) Their websites are important…don’t overlook.
Most Members of Congress have offices in your State. A local telephone number will be on their website. This is a great place to sit down and explain your thoughts about what is taking place. The welcome mat is always out.
I told my friend…having worked in Washington and the Congress I can assure you the President and your Member of Congress want to know what you think.
Finally, expressing your opinion should be an ongoing process…not just right now.
