If there was ever a time for Americans to contact their representative in Congress, it is now. Members of Congress should be up in arms about housing, healthcare & feeding and other programs in Trump’s federal spending freeze. But are they? Both Houses of Congress are controlled by Republicans (MAGA) and likely they are afraid to cross Trump.
That is why it is urgent for everyone to contact their representative in Congress. They need to hear from every nook & cranny across the country. Plus, they need to know Americans do not like Trump trying to take the power of the purse away from Congress as mandated in the Constitution. That alone should alarm them.
It’s important to contact your Member of Congress. Let them know of your opposition to the Trump freeze. Their staff tallies the opinions expressed by phone, email or letter. They pay to attention to their constituents (voters)…and they are running for re-election in 2026.
Already news stories about the impact of this “freeze” are showing up not only in the national media…and at the grassroots. This is time for local newspapers, radio call-in shows and television coverage to restore the strength of local media. This will get the attention of Members of Congress.
Many state Legislatures are just convening. They need to stand up and fight this action from their perch. Congresspersons know how close local legislators are to their constituents & communities. If they don’t speak up the problems created by Trump’s crowd will land at their desk. The same goes for Governors and other state officials.
This battle cannot be fought just by national special interest groups or Democrats in Congress. It must involve everyone…before our democracy suffers another blow.
Below is how to contact your Member of Congress
