What Can I Do

Jun 13, 2025

“What Can I do” was the likely question asked yesterday in living rooms across America.  We watched on live television a United States Senator Alex Padilla (D.CA) thrown to the floor & handcuffed by federal authorities and the FBI.

We must make certain our family & neighbors realize what’s going on in our country, America.  President Trump after taking control of the California national guard is using them as surrogates.  Surrogates to intimidate the peaceful demonstrators plus its intimidating those of us sitting at home watching.  Another goal is to suppress freedom of assembly & speech.

Just wonder did President Trump let Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu attack Iran to take our attention off the mess he has created in America?

We must all join the fight for our future.  This can take many forms even for those of us physically unable to join in the protests in our community.  For example, writing a blog, letter to the editor or sharing your concern on social media.  Young people may be asking…I want to do something. Help them understand the importance of our Constitution’s 1st Amendment.  They need to know it clearly states our freedom of speech, the press and the right to peaceably assemble.  So don’t be afraid to join your friends in peaceably protesting.

We must put pressure on Republicans serving in Congress and help them understand the “manipulation of national security to suit Trump’s ego, political agenda and thirst for vengeance against Blue America”.  For too long Republicans have gotten by as quiet observers. Let them know they will pay in 2026 for not only passing devastating legislation impacting people’s healthcare, food assistance and for not standing up to Trump.

The Contrarian pointed out this morning “too many Republicans are cheering for a police state (“Tar and feather” the governor of California, demanded the Speaker of the House?!) and too few Democrats are speaking out, for fear of being labeled anti-military or pro-illegal immigrants”.

This fight that must be joined by freedom loving Republicans, Democrats, young and old.  Remember believe in America.

BTW, tomorrow is Flag Day…wave the Flag.
