Recent polling by The Washington Post-Ipsos found 66 percent of adults knew little or nothing about Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”. That’s sad. This proposed bill impacts various aspects of American life and economy as related to tax changes and spending cuts.
The House of Representatives voted & passed this 11-bill package in the darkness of the night. Now Senate is working on their approach which is currently 10 bills.
Let’s take this opportunity to inventory and highlight some of the concerns with the “Big Beautiful Bill”.
CONCERNS
Significant increases to the national debt. May add trillions to the federal deficit.
Medicaid cuts limits access to healthcare for low-income families.
SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) being transferred to states could lead to benefit cuts. State budgets are already strained.
Medicare could face spending cuts.
Increased interest costs for homeowners and small businesses.
Funding cuts for clean energy and energy efficiency programs.
Rural hospitals will be forced to close due to Medicaid cuts.
Tax cuts for the billionaires will cause a need to raise the debt ceiling & cut vital programs.
These are just a few top-of-mind concerns which should motivate Americans to speak up. There is still time to influence your Senator or Congressman. Since Congressional leaders have targeted July 4th to pass the legislation.

Organize a visit to local congressional offices and take with you working poor, Americans with disabilities, seniors’ caregivers, cancer patients and children.
Identify local organizations which would suffer or close due to this “Big Beautiful Bill”.
Congressional Republicans and Democrats who vote for this bill must understand their vote will not be forgotten when the 2026 election is held…and that includes the primary.
