Yesterday America…today the World
A year ago, Americans watched and wondered what chaos Trump would bring. Today, the world is on edge as President Trump heads to Davos for the World Economic Forum, which attracts global leaders, business figures and thinkers to discuss world issues.
After 365 days of chaos, arresting of immigrants in ways difficult to watch on television, closing government agencies, conducting foreign policy by removing the President of Venezuela from his bed…pardoning former Honduran President convicted of drug trafficking…leaves one in fearful concern of what message Trump will take to Davos.
The world and its leaders have learned that Trump can be dangerous and will go after anyone who gets in his way. So foreign leaders are likely to up their security wondering who will be next on the friends/enemies list. He may have set the tone when he texted Norwegian prime minster he no longer was focus on peace since he didn’t win the Nobel Peace Prize.
NATO leaders learned in his first administration Trump is not a fan of their organization even though he gushes that he’s done more for NATO than anybody. With Trump focused on seizing Greenland the former NATO Secretary General said such action would destroy NATO.
This prestigious gathering should be prepared for anything when the U. S. President addresses the conference. Never think Trump will leave his insults at home.
Though the Davos conference has always made the business news…prepare for this one to be closely watched by citizens throughout the world. You may ask why…because Trump is no longer content just dominating the US!
