Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” was the subject of a commentary yesterday. House of Representatives Republicans is trying to fulfill his campaign tax promises. The House Rules Committee will meet at 1AM tomorrow to consider the bill.
Cutting Medicaid has been the subject of discussion during the Republicans’ development of legislation. Cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act will cause 13 million people to lose healthcare. A close reading of the bill found that the bill withheld implementation of the Medicaid cuts until after the 2026 & 2028 elections. We questioned what else might be hiding in the bill.
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) found Medicare cuts of $500 billion will be needed. This will be on top of the Medicaid cuts already planned. This information was shared on MSNBC’s Last Word program by Rep. Brendan Boyle (D. PA) ranking member of the Budget Committee.
