Fallen

Mar 20, 2024

Florida Republicans may not be a happy with Governor Ron DeSantis.  He says his 2024 presidential campaign is “suspended” however DeSantis name appeared on the Florida presidential primary ballot yesterday.  Out of 1,116,515 votes cast DeSantis could only muster 41,234.

There was no question candidate Trump would win.  Who would have expected presidential aspirant Nikki Haley to get 155,463 votes – more than Florida’s DeSantis. Does this tell you anything?

It’s likely the message to DeSantis is he owed Florida a full time Governor. A Governor working on the high cost of homeowner’s insurance, better healthcare for those unable to afford insurance and important environmental issues.  Rather than flying around the country preaching his “Woke” agenda and beating up on “Mickey Mouse.”

Rumors are he has been acting like a “candidate in waiting.”  He put out videos on the border problem, held a press conference to formally push for amendments to the U. S. Constitution including congressional term limits and requiring a balanced federal budget.  Uncharacteristic for DeSantis, he is amending fences, making donor thank you calls, bringing in previous supporters for coffee, etc.

Not sure 41,234 hometown votes would cause the national Republican Party to take a second look at DeSantis should Trump leave the race.

“How far the mighty have fallen.”
