Tomblin Asks For “Peoples Election”

Governor Earl Ray Tomblin in an early evening news conference announced plans to present legislation to create a May primary election and a November general election.  He said, “One thing I know for certain, the people need to determine the outcome of this election.”  Governor Tomblin added, “It would be unfortunate to conduct a new election without allowing the people to nominate their candidates.”

The events of the day have been reported by Associated Press reporter Lawrence Messina.  Steven Allen Adams on the West Virginia Watchdog has provided additional information.
