It is nearly the end of the 2026 primary election cycle. Based on President Trump’s approach of taking out anyone who disagrees with him, especially fellow “Republican” members of Congress he believes are disloyal. Our only hope is the November general election.
Trump’s use of unlimited money in primaries makes one wonder what he and his billionaire buddies will spend to assure Trump controls the next Congress. Just think, in one Kentucky congressional district reporting shows over $32 million was spent to “take out” a Republican Member of Congress who Trump dislikes with a passion.
Our democracy is under constant attack. The current Republican Congress gave up its constitutional responsibilities to Trump and his minions. In November it is urgent we elect a Congress that stands up to President Trump and follows the Constitution. WE MUST ACT NOW.
People power is the answer. We must build off The Kings Day protests and increase that power. We must preserver and stay strong. We have to do what it takes. Don’t believe it cannot be done…if people rise up. Like the believers in the civil rights movement…crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma.
Think back to when Senator Barack Obama announced for President. It appeared his fellow Americans and various political pundits did not believe a black man could be elected. The people and enthusiasm took over that campaign. It was not money that put him in office is was people who believed and went to work.
Finally, let’s not forget the SAVE America Act Trump has obsessed over in his second term. He is trying to make voting difficult for millions of eligible citizens, especially married women whose names changed, rural voters, elderly voters, low-income voters, naturalized citizens and people without easy access to documents like passports or certified birth certificates.
It’s time that the 2026 election become about “people power” not advancing Trump’s agenda that serves him, his family and his billionaire buddies.
