- Governor Manchin must & will watch his votes carefully as Senator-elect. The 2012 Senate election started last night. The forthcoming lame duck session presents some problems.
- We will see more Tea Party members taking an active role in Republican affairs – they will be welcomed.
- Congressman-elect David McKinley executed an impressive campaign in the first congressional district. Campaigns do matter and well run one even more.
- Incoming WV Governor Earl Ray Tomblin will be a steady hand on the wheels of government. His experience and conservative views will be liked.
- Citizens should remember Republicans don’t take over the U. S. House of Representatives until January, 2011.
- How could the Manchin/Raese polls been so wrong?
- State Republican leaders need to start candidate recruitment now. A true two party system cannot be built until Republicans offer candidates at the courthouse level.
- Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito will now be positioned in the Congress to lead on West Virginia issues. She can be counted on.
- Wonder if soon to be Minority Leader Pelosi will push policies in the lame duck session that will do in Democrat members in 2012 who survived last night.
- Rep. Alan Mollohan was in the “morning after” news talking about compromise in Congress. Maybe he plans a comeback.
- Judge John Yoder never gives up. He turned in an impressive 51 to 49 percent race for the Supreme Court. He needs to continue campaigning as two seats are open in 2012.
- Responsibility has not shifted to Republicans it still rests with President Obama.
- Politicians who advocate for spending more tax money on a Governor’s succession election in 2011 do so at their peril. Voters are feed up seeing their money spent on “special elections.”
- The Fire Pelosi strategy worked in capturing the U. S. House. If Michael Steele thinks his little “Fire Pelosi” bus trip gets him a second term as RNC chairman he had better think again.
- Obama had better be serious about “change” if he plans to run again in 2012.
- Great news that the GOP gained six House of Delegates members. More candidates are the way to grow the numbers even more.
- Don’t look for outside organizations like American Crossroads to go away.
- Congressional House Republicans have been given a second chance and let’s hope a lesson was learned in 2006 & 2008.
- The real fight in the 2011 session of the WV Legislature will be drawing the lines for new legislative and congressional boundaries.
- Washington and Congress is a complicated place.
