BREAKING POLITICAL TIDBITS…..Supreme Court orders an elected Governor be in place by November 15, 2011…..UNLESS THE LEGISLATURE ACT the political parties will conduct conventions…..that will be some exercise…..WINNERS IN TERMS OF A CONVENTION look like SOS Natalie TENNANT & Treasurer John PERDUE..they have been most active in Democrat party affairs…..in Republican circles the winners could be Mike STUART [State Party Chair] & Mike TEETS well liked by rank & file party committee members…..GOVERNOR TOMBLIN holds a lot of cards in this new game…..anyone considering the race needs contacts [if a convention] and huge immediate dollars for a general election…..former SOS Betty Ireland is likely working the phones now…..and Senator Clark Barnes is lining of legislative support for whatever strategy…..think Senator Manchin and his team will stay out this…..BUSINESS LEADERS should take serious actions to protect their interests in the event Governor Tomblin is not the nominees of his party…..same goes for Republicans…..they can benefit with the right candidate when the Democrat convention bloodletting is over…..oh let’s not forget Speaker Rick Thompson who has been running well over a year…..he controls the actions of the House…..unless of course some of his colleagues decide to take up arms…..and declare for Governor…..then there is the Senate based revolt leader Jeff Kessler…..who is quoted as telling a recent Charleston breakfast meeting…..he could not stay long…..”I have a constitutional crisis to create and a revolt to lead”…..wonder how he feels this evening with half of the Senate still stirred up as he prepare a run for Governor…..other names that have been around wanting to be Governor include Mark Sorsaia PA in Putnam County…..Charleston Senator Brooks McCabe….. there must be more…..and there will be…..check in with phillipsbillboard.com.
