Senator Robert C. Byrd still has Corridor H on his agenda. This is exciting news.
Governor Manchin was in Washington to brief Senator Byrd and his staff on highway needs. He reported on his telephone visit with Senator Byrd. “The first thing he wanted to know was our status on finishing Corridor H”.
This is welcome news for the supporters of this important highway. President Obama did not request funding for Corridor H in his budget.
While Senator Byrd recuperates from a recent illness let’s send him a real get well message, another “Build Corridor H” rally.
Leaders along Corridor H organized an event with hundreds of trucks and people in 1997. They paraded to the Elkins railroad yard for an old fashion event. The impact was significant.
I bet Senator Byrd would be delighted if his old team of Corridor H leaders would reactivate the movement.
Now that would be really good news.
